Freeman and Ports Petroleum squared off at Alice Nobile Ice Arena on Sunday, September 27, 2026, and the evening needed a shootout to settle it, with null finally prevailing 4–4. Emma Stanley drew first blood for Freeman in the 1st period, setting the tone for an absolute goal-fest.

Period by period: Freeman took the 1st period by a 2–0 count; the teams traded 1 apiece in the 2nd period; Ports Petroleum took the 3rd period by a 3–1 count. The score was tied 2 times, because neither team could stand to let the other enjoy anything. At one point Ports Petroleum rattled off 3 unanswered goals, a run that had the opposing bench staring at their skates.

On the scoresheet, Luke Armour (2G, 0A) chipped in multi-point nights. The rest of the roster contributed moral support and timely line changes.

Elsewhere: shots finished Freeman 32, Ports Petroleum 25 — the Ports Petroleum netminder was the busier of the two; Ports Petroleum made themselves a little too familiar with the penalty box (0–1); when overtime solved nothing, Freeman took the shootout and the extra point.
